"SECOND LINE BOOGIE"
Is an original theatrical event, which offers people total engagement and active participation in a global music and dance experience.

The Second Line Boogie Show offers a cornucopia of music and dance styles from samba, swing and tap to Moroccan, funk, hip-hop and jazz. These music styles seek to unite cultures through universal rhythms in what Mr. B calls "world-bop".

The performance is a well-rounded music presentation. An eclectic journey and tribute to the diverse music and dance styles of the world including: New Orleans Jazz, The Caribbean, Africa, India, Europe and South America.

Barrence Baytos a.k.a. Mr. B, has devoted his life to what he calls "multi-culturalism", which takes a left turn away from today's formulaic genres and manipulative beats. Baytos is a gifted dancer, who is trained in a myriad of dance and music styles (from ballroom to tap to ballet to ethnic dance). This exposure to such diversities has been brought forth and expressed in his music today.

Baytos has shared the stage with such musical heavyweights as Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty, the African guitar legend Franco and L.A.'s own Phil Alvin among others. He has also performed with band members from the Meters, Little Feat, Dr. John, Rod Stewart and Bonnie Raitt.

The Men of the Big Bamboo complete this "world-bop" fusion with some of the finest musicians around, including drummer/writer/producer, Kenneth Sara (Herbie Hancock, Taj Mahal, Broadway's One Mo Time); pianist/arranger/composer, Mark Justin (Junior Wells, Benny Maupin); guitarist, Doug Macaskill (Mister Mister); bassist, Cuba's own Carlitos Puerto ; saxophonist, Jimmy Roberts (Sade, Rod Stewart); trumpet, Lee R. Thornburg (Tower Horns, The Tonight Show Band, Clint Black); trombonist, Nick Lane (Rod Stewart, Etta James, J. Lo) and noted L.A. back-up vocal duo, Frit and Frat Fuller.
